Wava – Step 1 – Learning about wav files and FLTK.

As part of the first step in this project, I have developed an application which read the wav file and plot a histogram of the amplitude and delta (difference between two consecutive samples).

Note that this histogram reveals this particular wav file is clipped although the numbers show the clipping value at a little less than the peak range of a 16-bit based system. Probably of interest to audio engineers – this particular recording did not sound bad.
